James 1:12-15-Sin and Temptations in Life

“God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.”

James 1:12-15 NLT

Does your life ever get so busy, the world so loud around you, that you forget to talk to God at all during the day? Like, it wasn't even an idea in your mind to read your Bible, you really haven't even thought about God at all through the craziness of your schedule, and your life? Same.

When I get out of this rut, I'm always incredibly shocked by how quickly I've restarted all the habits that I've worked so hard to break, that don't glorify God. Like the sin just slowly creeps in, and boom it's apart of your life, like it never left, and if you don't check yourself real fast, and make changes, the sin could (and would) completely wreck you, if you let it get out of hand.

Why is choosing God, and his way, and spending your day walking it WITH him, so hard sometimes? The only Being in this busy, loud world that will give us any sort of joy, contentment, peace, and worthiness, is the one thing we choose to not restlessly chase after.

We have to make choosing God, as the center of our lives, living his will for our lives, and walking with him every step of our day, our habit every morning, and every hour of the day, so the devil isn't allowed to win in our lives. Trust me, it's a daily battle for me. The world and it's ways just seem so easy, and so natural, and so much more satisfying, but when you choose God, and your choose to spend your time in His word, praising him, and consistently inviting him into your life and your day, there is not better feeling than his love, peace, and protection. I'm never truly happier than when I feel God near, and I see him working in my life. He is incredibly crafty in all the ways he shows up, and the more I look for him in the quiet places the louder he is showing me all the ways he cares and loves me. Don't let your desires win, run to your maker who loves and cherishes you. The one who hand crafted you with an incredible purpose for this world. Stay steadfast in the trials, and look up when you need help...don't run to the "things" or ideologies of this world that will never satisfy you.
